Anil Goshwami arrived in the state capital in a Helicopter yesterday accompanied by the two officials.

However, sources have said that the two officials have left Imphal today.

Meanwhile, Anil Goshwami on his arrival at the border town of Moreh, took stock of conditions of the border between the two countries including Moreh gate No. 1 and No. 2 along the Indo-Mynamar border, the source said.

Anil Goshwami met with top officials of IGAR (S) at Mantripukhri, Imphal. He will leave Imphal for IGAR (North) at Kohima, Nagaland tomorrow at 10 a.m.

The source further said that Anil Goswamy had visited Ukhrul district headquarter before proceeding to Moreh and met with top officials of Central Para-Military Force (CPMF) and various other representatives of civil society organizations (CSO) at Ukhrul.

The source also informed that Anil Goshwamy’s visit to Manipur is to monitor the law and order situation and activities of security personnel deployed for counter insurgency operations (CI-ops).

It is also believed that the visit might concern the recent surrender of cadres of a Kuki militant group at Moreh and cadres of other UG groups presently lodged at the posts of Assam Rifles after having joined the mainstream for peace talks.

However, there has been no official report on his meeting with officials of the Manipur government.
