Student bodies, teachers seek action against absent teachers

JIRIBAM, June 5: Student bodies of Jiribam namely AMSU-District Committee, MSF-Special Branch, DESAM-Local Council, KSA-Jiribam Unit, Jiribam Hr Sec Students Union and teachers of Jiribam Govt Hr Sec School had a joint meeting and discussed about the present condition of the lone government higher secondary school in Jiribam sub-division.

During the joint meeting which was held at the conference hall of the said school at 1 pm today, the Principal of the school and the student bodies have resolved to take strong action against those teachers who do not want to teach students and stayed carefree at home instead.

Pointing out the low pass rate of the students of the school in the recent BOSEM and COHSEM examinations, to find out any problem of the school for the same, and the development of the school, its Principal L Ranjitkumar Singh said he will take action against those teachers who went to Imphal and failed to return back to the school since his induction as a Principal in the school.

As there are many students and very less teachers, it has been difficult to control the students, he had said.

He urged the student bodies in the sub-division to lend possible support in his effort for the development of the school and to produce good students. He assured that a complaint will be lodged to the concerned authorities regarding the continued absence of three teachers from the school.

During the meeting, the representatives of the student bodies urged the teachers of the school to do their duties responsibly. The concerned authorities will be pressed regarding the less number of teachers and the mentioned absent teachers will be strongly pressed to go to the school and teach the students.
