Suitable jobs for Havildars` family killed by IRB personnel: Gaikhangam

IMPHAL, June 21: Efforts would be made to provide suitable government jobs to the families of three Havildars who died at the hands of rifleman Hangshing Kaikhhou posted at 6IRB located at Maphou Dam on June 5, 2012.

This was stated by Deputy Chief Miniter Gaikhangam who also holds the Home portfolio while answering a question raised by opposition leader  MLA Dr. I. Ibohanbi Singh during the question and answer session of Manipur Legislative Assembly today. He further said it is true that Khamjathang Paite with Havildar No. 55611, Th. Bimol Singh with Havildar No. 8439 and H. Deven Singh with Havildar No. 8257 were killed while on duty. Rifleman Hangshing Kaikhhou shot the three Hvildars dead following which the Rifleman committed suicide, he informed.

The families of the three deceased Havildars were provided with monetary benefits namely GETI(GIS), leave encashment and GPF (final) and on that day itself, the family of the deceased Rifleman Hansing Kaikhohou was awarded  monetary benefits of GETI(GIS), he said.

MLA Dr. Ibohanbi Singh asked whether, besides their due monetary benefits, a suitable government job each can be provided to the families of the deceased havildars as they died on duty on the floor of the House.

Replying to the question, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam said that efforts would be made to provide a suitable government job each to the families of the deceased.
