IMPHAL, July 22: While referring to the ruling passed by Supreme Court on July 18 regarding the MBBS/BDS admission, the All Manipur MBBS/BDS 2013 Entrance Examination Parents/Guardians’ Association has voiced strong opposition against the claim of All India Student Federation (AISF), Manipur State Unit that the norms of NEET will still apply to those who have cleared the common exam and who are under counselling process for getting admission.
A statement issued by K. Arun Meetei, Secretary of the organisation stated that the Supreme Court had already quashed the notification regarding the NEET common exam and that one cannot go against the final decision of the apex court.
The guardian association further asked the students’ union on which pages and paragraphs of the Court order are its claims based on.
While referring to the Article No. 15, 25, 26, 29 and 30 enshrined in the Indian Constitution, the association cautioned all concerned authorities not to go against the ruling of the Court saying that one may be put in jail if he/she defies the Court’s order.
The association further urged the State Government not to follow suit of other States and appealed to act according to the ruling of the Supreme Court and revoke the cabinet’s decision taken earlier of not allowing to conduct the state PMT.
