Clarification of MBBS/BDS seats

IMPHAL, July 12: The Under Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Internal Security Division, govt of India has clarified that the allocation of MBBS/BDS seats from Central pool for spouse and children of terrorist victims for the academic year 2013-14 – in this regard, ministry of Health & Family Welfare has issued the following clarification vide their OM No U-14014/2/2013 ME (IV) dated June 20, 2013, according to a DIPR press statement.

The clarification said that in the light of interim decision dated May 13, 2013 pronounced by Supreme Court in the matter of TC No 98 of 2012, clarified that for the stake holders who recommend/select students on the basis of marks obtained in an entrance examination, then selection of candidates will be made on the basis of the merit list of the said entrance examination, conducted by the beneficiary stake holder.

It is further said that if the selection of candidates is made by the stake holder purely on academic, merit or the beneficiary stake holder has not conducted any entrance examination, then, selection of the candidates will be made on the basis of NEET 2013 conducted by CBSE and their inter-se merit will be decided within their respective category solely on the basis of marks obtained in NEET 2013 conducted by CBSE, it said.
