Combined CDO team apprehends KCP MTF

IMPHAL, July 15: In the early morning of July 15 at 4:00 am, a combined team of Bishnupur Cdo and Imphal West Cdo attached to Wangjing police station had carried out a combing operation at Upokpi Thongkhong area and apprehended two activists of Kangleipak Communist Part – Military Task Force (KCP-MTF).

According to police source, the apprehended militants were identified as one Sapam Budhachandra Singh, 43 son of S Gouramani Singh of Wangoi Samushang Makha Leikai and another one Yumnam Ithem Singh alias Laija, 28 son of Y Ranjit Singh of Wangoi Upokpi Thongkhong.

The source said that the two apprehended KCP-MTF activist are working under the command of self styled major Ranjit and further adding that they were forcibly collecting money from the Pradhan and Members of the Gram Panchayat of the Wangoi area and deposited the same to Ranjit.
 
Meanwhile, the Superintendent of Police of Imphal East district has today issued a press release that a team of CDO of Imphal East arrested one KCP (MTF) cadre on July 14, 2013 at about 4:50 pm. The arrested militant identified himself as S Leitul Maring, 37, son of (L) S Mothil Yaipharok Maring village from Yaipharok Maring village and one 9 mm Pistol loaded with three live rounds in the magazine was recovered from his possession. On verification, he disclosed that he joined KCP (MTF) organization in the year 2011 through one I Ibomcha alias Michael of Langdum and he involved in extortion of money from the general public, govt officials, businessmen etc.
