IMPHAL, July 3: A cousin brother of Tengnoupal MLA DK Korungthang was found dead along the inter village road of Kakching to Khunou Tabi Ching under Tengnoupal Police Station today at around 10:30am with multiple head injury as if made by a sharp weapon.
The dead body has been picked up by a team of the Tengnoupal Police and deposited at the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences, JNIMS Porompat.
According to the police, the dead body of D K Jamesh alias Mosilpha (60), son of Late Koin of Leiching Minou Village was employed as a chowkhidar at the Leiching Minou Water Supple scheme and a member of the Village Authority of Leiching Minou Villlage was found with multiple injuries on his head, forehead, right side of his face and neck along the inter village road of Kakching to Khunou Tabi ching at Laijing Minou at around 10:30am.
The deceased’s identity card and money from his wallet were also missing and a Hero Honda Glamour Bike bearing registration number MN04-B-1506 which was driven by the deceased person was found near the dead body from the spot, police said.
According to the family members who were present at JNIMS morgue, the deceased who is also a Member of the Village Authority went out from his residence at around 10am today on his motorcycle bike towards Imphal and was found dead with multiple head injuries at Laijing Minou area, some 2 kilometre away from his village.
According to the reliable sources, local of the area held an emergency meeting at the local regarding the incident.
The local MLA and the Superintendent of Police Chandel District rushed to the area where the dead body was found and inspected the area.
