IMPHAL, July 9: A two day general body meeting and the general conference of the All Manipur United Club Organisation, (AMUCO) concluded today at Manipur Dramatic Union MDU Hall.The oath taking ceremony of the newly elected office bearers of the organization for the tenure of three years was also conducted today.Speaking at the general body meeting, outgoing president KT Rahaman said that AMUCO has been working for the improvement of the state.The organization has also participated in various issues of the state and continued that the organization was also formed against a treat to the territorial integrity of the state.AMUCO had taken a leading part during the June Uprising of 2001 and had also observed this year’s June 18 observation jointly with the UCM as desired by the people of the state, he said and added that it has been coordinating with 28 other organizations of the state and will continue to fight against all threats to the territorial integrity of the state.
He further expressed the need for unity amongst the several organizations of the state against all threats to the territorial integrity.
The newly elected officer bearers are Y Mani Khuman as president; Ph Devan Shrama, T Helen and W Gonendro as vice president; M C Modhuchandra as general secretary; D Gandhi as organisation secretary; S James Hmar as publicity secretary and Shyamsunder Ningthoujam as finance secretary.
