IMPHAL, July 26: A non local labourer was found dead at around 2 pm today inside a pit inside the under construction New Secretariat North Block building at Chingmeirong under Heingang police station in Imphal East district.
He is said to be a construction worker of Simplex Projects and engaged in the construction work at the New Secretariat Building.
He had allegedly gone missing since last night.
His co-workers identified him as Izal Saikh (20), son of Md Mutihar of Fakirganj Village, Dudri district in Assam.
His dead body was found floating on water inside a pit in the under construction building today around 2 pm.
A team of Heingang police came and picked up the body and deposited it at JNIMS morgue for post mortem examination.
