IMPHAL, July 10: Reacting strongly to the Dy Chief Minister Gaikhangam’s statement that KCP (MC) Lallumba group leader Kshtrimayum Hitendra alias Kritibas alias Lallumba (42), son of (L) Amuyaima of Thinungei Mayai Leikai and  known by the alias of Lallumba is presently undergoing treatment at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences following an accident, the general secretary of the outfit Wahengbam Ramananda alias Rosho Meetei today called a press conference passing off the Dy CM’s statement as baseless and concocted.

The Dy CM’s statement came two days after the KCP (MC) Lallumba group general secretary Rosho had declared during a press conference that Lallumba has been expelled from the outfit for decamping from the 7th MR Khabeishoi camp since June 9 along with a huge amount of Rs 1,92,68, 800 which included the one-time rehabilitation package from the government for the outfit’s cadres and monthly allowance of eight months, bank deposits of 114 cadres and 10 polit buro members of the outfit.

Pointing out that Lallumba has two Bolero jeeps, one gypsy, a Chevrolet Beat car, a Tata Winger and a Tractor at his home, the militant leader said that if he had not really siphoned off the huge amount meant for the outfit, how can a UG outfit leader manage to buy such a huge fleet of vehicles. While rejecting the Dy CM`s statement, Rosho said the outfit has already sent cadres to the both the RIMS and JNIMS to inquire about Lallumba’s admission, however there were no reports of Lallumba’s admission to the hospitals.

He continued that ever since, Lallumba left the camp on June 9, there has been no correspondence from him. Whenever, the outfit has tried to contact him, his cell phone is found to be either switched-off or unreachable, he alleged.

Rosho also maintained that a top police official was given financial assistance by Lallumba.

Pointing another accusing finger, Rosho alleged that since Lallumba was the only one known to the bank, he always used to withdraw the monthly allowances of the cadres and whenever he had to done so, he used to take around 10 cadres with him from whom he would always deduct Rs 1000 each.

Further lamenting, the state Home Minister’s statement as “unfortunate”, he said it has hurt the sentiments of the cadres of the outfit and raised suspicions within the group.

He further expressed that Gaikhangam’s statement must be based on official reports and further urged the DY CM to clarify his source. He further appealed to the Dy CM to visit personally the cadres of the outfit and inquire on the issue.

It may be mentioned that the outfit has been in a tripartite peace talk since signing an agreement with the central and the state governments on August 6, 2010 at the 1st Manipur Rifles Banquet Hall and its cadres putting up at the 7th MR Khabeishoi post ever since. IFP has been unable to confirm whether Lallumba is admitted at RIMS till the time of filing this report.
