IMPHAL, July 14: The dead bodies of the Kuki liberation Army (Khongsai) home secretary and his infant daughter have been handed over to the family members after conducting post mortem at the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences today.
While, Saikhohao was killed yesterday during a suspected life attempt on him, his daughter who had suffered a bullet injury on her stomach succumbed to her injury at the Shija hospital Incentive Care Unit (ICU) today at around 2 am.
Saikhohao Home secretary of the KLA (Khongsai) was shot to dead on the spot by unidentified person(s) yesterday at around 3.30 at Champai village under Saikhul police station in Senapati district when he, along with four other family members including his wife and daughter were returning to his Saikhul residence in a Verna car driven by his driver.
It may be mentioned that while, Saikhohao was killed at the spot, the attack had left his daughter, a 47 year old relative and another five year old boy and the driver injured while his wife escaped unhurt.
