IMPHAL, August 11: The Apunba Manipur Kanba Ima Lup (AMKIL) has today expressed in a press release saying that a torch rally in the evening of August 13, 2013 at 5:30 pm and a floral tribute to the patriots of Manipur who fought the last war of Manipur with the British Empire in 1891 is being organized at Keisampat Lairembi Community Hall, Imphal.
The press release further said that after having collected the women at Keisampat, they will with a torch rally go to the memorial cemetery of the than late patriot prince Tikendrajit at Hicham Yaicham Pat, Yaiskul Janmasthan for a floral tribute. The same party will then proceed to the traffic island at Konung mamang for a floral tribute to patriot Thangal General, it said.
The press release further requested to all to attend the observance of the patriots day, it said.
In another press release of the Nongpok Leingak Nupi Lup said that this women organisation along with Lizard Library, Wangkhei will observe patriots day on August 13, 2013 in the community hall at Wangkhei Meihoubam Lampak.
