AMSU `inspects` roads and schools at Ukhrul

IMPHAL, August 19: A team of the All Manipur Students’ Union (AMSU) led by the president of AMSU Head Office has inspected the condition of roads, bridges and schools at Hongbei and Khamlang village under Kasom Khullen Sub-Division in Ukhrul district on August 12 last, informed a press release issued by S Shahjahan Shah, publicity & information secretary AMSU.

During the inspection, the team found that most of the roads and bridges under the villages are in deplorable condition.

In going to the Khamlang village, the team had to face untold miseries as the roads which connect the village were almost worn out with many pot holes and water clogging.

The release further stated that even though there are several government schools in the district, some schools have not been running from long time. Many students of the government’s schools have admitted at private schools as the government fail to address the condition of the government’s schools.

If there are some competent government schools, many poor people of the village are willing to send their wards at the schools, it said as stated by headman of the village.

The team also found a government’s primary health centre under Kasom Khullen Sub-Division without functioning.
