IMPHAL, August 24: A stern protest was made against Nazima Begum, CDPO of the ICDS project Kakching by the Supervisors, SA, Angalwadi Workers and Helpers of the Kakching zone.
One of the Supervisors named M Bimola told media persons that the Supervisors and Anganwadi Workers and Helpers of the ICDS Kakching have not received salaries for the last 14 months.
She further said that the govt had released necessary funds for the salaries of the supervisors, anganwadi workers and helpers in the second week of July last, but could not get the salaries due to negligence of the concerned CDPO.
Bimola further alleged that the CDPO herself and three other employees have recieved their salaries while the remaining other employees have been left out citing that there were mistakes in the bill process.
Regarding the matter, Bimola continued, the employees tried to meet the CDPO but failed owing to the non attendance of the CDPO in her office further adding that the CDPO has played a blame game with the sub treasury office, Kakching.
It is meaningless to have mistakes in the bill process for others while there is no mistake for her own bill, which showed that she is an unfit officer, Bimola claimed.
The supervisor further said that there are 459 Angalwadi centres in ICDS project Kakching adding that the Angalwadi workers and helpers recieve unequal salaries at a time.
She charged that while one will recieve salaries for two months, others will recieve for 3 or 4 months which indicates that there is insincerity on the part of the CDPO.
While putting many charges against the CDPO, Bimola added that the CDPO did not execute national programs and utilize contingency funds before adding that the CDPO should take responsibility for not getting the monthly salaries of the employees.
Later on, the agitated employees went to the sub Treasury office Kakching to meet the Treasury but the Treasury was absent from duty today. The agitated supervisors, SA and Angalwadi Workers and Helper organised themselves there a sit in protest.
During the sit in protest, placards which read ‘Remove CDPO’, ‘Treasury must make necessary advice’, Transfer UDC, Bill clerk and CDPO immediately’ were displayed .
At the end of the sit in protest, a charter of demands was submitted to the MLAs of Kakching, Wabagai, Hiyanglam and also SDO, Kakching, Project Director of ICDS respectively.
