IMPHAL, August 8: The apex student bodies of the state, Joint Students’ Coordination Committee, AMSU, MSF, DESAM, KSA, SWAK & SUK today appealed for a mass observation of the Patriots’ Day on August 13.
Addressing a press conference at the DESAM office at Keishampat, convener of the apex body, Longjam Umakanta Meitei appealed to all the educational institutes of the state including schools, colleges to observe the day instead of declaring it a holiday.
He appealed to the authorities of educational institutes to organize debating competitions, extempore speech, recitation, quiz and painting competitions on the day in commemoration of the sacrifices of the heroes of the state and inculcate a sense of nationalism to the students.
