IMPHAL, August 11: The PRO HQ IGAR (South) has today said in a press release that the 18 SIKH of HQ 9 sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) conducted a volleyball match and distributed sports items to the Human Resource Development Organisation (HRDO), Samurou, Imphal West on August 10, 2013.
A volley ball match was also played between the troops of 18 SIKH and members of the club in which the club won the match while attending Ex-MLA Salam Joy, Chairman of the Samurao Nagar Panchayat and various other civil dignitaries of the area were present, it said.
The same press release further mentioned that a training visit to Keithelmanbi was also organised for 140 NCC Cadets of the Air Wing of NCC Imphal by 40 AR of HQ 9 sector and further continued that the visit was organised to impart training and give exposure to the cadets so as to create awareness amongst them about the armed forces, it said.
