Audition for `Voice Hunt` at Phungyo

UKHRUL, August 24: The Phungyo Baptist Church (Tangrei) is hosting,”the Phungyo Voice Hunt” 2013, as a mode of motivating talents for the youth in society in a spiritual bent.

According to the Phungyo Voice Hunt Organizing Committee, altogether 42- young people in Ukhrul district within the age groups ranging from 16-18 are taking part in the fray.

This is the 4th season that the Church is organizing the event starting from the year 2009. The talented young aspirants during the competition will be judged mainly on their ability and fitness on certain criteria like voice control, rhythmic test inclusive of the personality, attitude, smartness and so on. The judges, Yingkongthei Luithui, Soreichan, Nakhedei and Sothingam Shaiza interacted with media persons at the church office during the first audition that kicked-off today.

The second audition is due to begin from September 7 when the results of the process to shortlist the candidates to 10 finalists will be declared which will be again shortlisted to five finalists on September 24 next.  The five finalists would step finally on the stage on December 31, a source from the organizing committee said.

The attractive coveted prizes , according to the committee includes a cash prize of Rs 25,000/- for the 1st position holder and the rest four competitors on the stage during the final show will be entitled to receive a sum of Rs 5,000/- each.

The 10 finalists are being entitled to undergo a free 4-month-long vocal training at Echoes of Music, a renowned School of Music in Ukhrul.
