IMPHAL, August 24: Stating that the death case of Md Babulal Laskar (16) son of Md Sahabuddin alias Shyam who was electrocuted at Kashimpur village, Jiribam on August 19 last around 11 am was not from the negligence of Jiribam Electricity Division; the Friends Union Youth Club, Jiribam has said that the dept was just discharging its duty of laying LT line in order to supply electricity at Kashimpur area and that the Dept had informed the villagers many a times not to enter nearby the works site.
In a statement, the club said Md Ali Ahemed, SO of the Dept had sent a report to Jiribam Police, ADC Jiribam and EE-Jiribam Division informing about the Dept’s works procedures of laying LT line at Kashimpur area.
On humanity ground, a meeting was held in connection with the incident at the residence of Md Asab Uddin, Pradhan attended by family members of the deceased where it reached an agreement between the two sides that SO Md Ali Ahemed and Jiribam Electricity Dept have no role in the death case of the student and that one should not seek the help of law, it added.
The statement further said after the agreement, the last rite of the deceased was performed by the deceased’s family members adding that to relate Jiribam Electricity Dept with the death case was unfortunate.
