IMPHAL, Aug 30: As per its decision to bring uniformity on the price of chicken meat, the All Manipur Poultry Farmers & Traders Association today closed several chicken centres in and around Imphal city for violating the decision to maintain price uniformity, said a press release.
Members of the association visited several centres in the morning at Keishampat, Takhel Leikai, Ananda Singh Academy crossing, Khurai Lamlong Bazaar, Khurai Thoidingjam Leikai, Chingmeirong Khongnang Karak and checked the price tags exhibited by the centres in front of their respective shops and closed down several centres which were found to have violated the decision, it said.
The press release mentioned that the All Manipur Poultry Farmers & Traders Association has been appealing to all chicken vendors to maintain uniformity in the prices of chicken meat to counter the import of chickens at a very low price which difficult to compete with.
