IMPHAL, August 2: The State Platform of Diabled Peoples’ Organizations, Manipur today organized a sit in protest at the Keishampat Lairembi Community hall under theme “Stop sexual assault against women with disabilities in our society, protect them as your sisters”.
The sit in was attended by volunteers of several civil organizations from all nine districts of the state.
Speaking to IFP, N Iboton Vice President of the All Manipur Disabled and Physically Handicapped Development Association lamented that the indifference of the government to look into criminal cases against the differently abled is quite disheartening.
He alleged that the government has always neglected investigation of crimes against the differently abled.
