IMPHAL, August 2: State Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam today appealed to whosoever are involved in the kidnapping of two IFCD officials, a contractor and two officials of the Kolkata based company RN Sinha Company involved in the Dolaithabi Barrage construction to release the officials at the earliest.
Speaking to media persons at his office chamber today, the Dy CM today said the officials were allegedly kidnapped while they were returning from the construction site yesterday around 5:15pm.
The officials are N Karuna Acharya Singh, Superintending Engineer; N Surchandra Executive Engineer; Sanayaima Sharma, contractor; and Debjit Sinha and Abhijit Sinha of RN Sinha company.
The Dy CM has expressed that if the officials had informed the government prior to the visit, then escorts could have been provided, however, since there was no intimation of any such, they were easily kidnapped by the miscreants.
