IMPHAL, Aug 28: In view of the accumulating pressures mounted upon the media houses of the state from different quarters and in response to a decision of the All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union regarding editorial decision over publishing or non publishing of news items, an Editors’ Committee was today constituted during a meeting of Editors of media houses held at Keishampat Leimajam Leikai at 4 pm.
The meeting was attended by editors of 17 media houses and unanimously resolved to constitute the committee to look after editorial rights and decisions only.
S Jugol, editor of Meeyam news paper has been selected as convener and the editors of Poknapham (Manipuri) and Sangai Express (Manipuri), A Robindro and Khogendra Khomdram respectively have been selected as co conveners.
