IMPHAL, August 18: A fire that broke out last night at around 11:30 pm reportedly burnt down a grocery shop at Khabam Lamkhai under Heingang police station in Imphal East district.
The shop owner has been identified as Thoudam Abhi Singh. Fire services said they were informed at around 12:15 am only and when they reached the place, it was too late to intervene.
Meanwhile, another fire incident was reported at a rented room in Longjam Kullabisdhu Singh & Sons building at MG Avenue today at around 3:11 pm. Eyewitnesses informed that the fire started from a cooking gas leakage.
However, as the fire services were informed on time, major damages were avoided.
