First aid training inaugurated

BISHNUPUR, August 19: A three day first aid training program was today inaugurated at the Royal Academy of Law, Oinam.

The Indian Red Cross Society, Bishnupur district branch is organizing the training program under the aegis of Indian Red Cross Society, Manipur State branch.

I Jugeshwar, chairman of ICRS Bishnupur district branch & Principal of Royal Academy of Law, Oinam presided over the inaugural function and Dr Y Mohendro, honorary secretary Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Manipur State branch participated as chief guest.

During the function, Dr Mohen said that frequency of road accidents is increasing now a days because of the accumulated traffic volumes in the streets of Manipur.

Besides this, the case of suicide attempt by the girls and married women are also increasing.

In such a situation, this first aid training program would help a lot.

He further said that the Red Cross Certificate of such training program will be helpful in getting jobs at both central and state govt.

While giving his presidential address, I Jugeshwar said that this training program will provide technical knowledge of how to deal in case of snake bites in the village, how to prevent difficulties to a delivery bound woman on her way to hospital and also helpful in dealing a road accident in the streets.

A total of 30 youths participated in the training program while the first aid trainer of IRCS Manipur, Bhakta Ngangom, the treasurer of Bishnupur district of IRCS, Dr H Romen and Dr Bankimchandra Thokchom, Dental Surgeon were resource persons at the first aid training program.
