BISHNUPUR, August 17: The Indian Red Cross Society, Bishnupur branch today celebrated its first foundation day in the Hall of Mini Secretariat of the district.
The deputy commissioner of the district Jason A Simray, the president of this branch and principal of the Royal Academy of Law Oinam I Jugeshwar Singh, the chairman of the branch were presidium members in the function while a souvenir was also released.
During the function, Jason A Simray, Deputy commissioner of the district said that development of the state is not progressing as the people of Manipur are only keen on the interests of their own communities. Instead of such sectarian outlook, a united effort with a wider outlook will bring forward the society, by doing so a big change could be brought in the society, he said.
During the function, a subcommittee on Disaster, Health and Education was formed so as to run the branch office smoothly.
