IMPHAL, Aug 14: The Governor of Manipur has extended heartiest greetings and best wishes to the people of the State on the occasion of Independence Day, August 15 2013.
In his message, the governor said during the last 66 years of Independence, India has made tremendous progress in all fields. However,, in the area of social justice, there is still lots to be done. Manipur as one of the important States must contribute towards Nation building and bringing about emotional integrity.
“We are proud of our tradition of democracy and our commitment to peace, equality and social justice. On this day of National rejoicing, let us all stand united in offering our homage to our freedom fighters and renew our pledge to utilize our natural and human resources to usher in a new economic order with a view to provide opportunities to our younger generation,’’ it added.
