IMPHAL, August 16: The guardians of the unselected candidates in the recruitment rally of Sub Inspector of Police and Jemadar of Manipur Rifles and India Reserve Battalion have formed an association called “Guardians Association of Victimised Candidates for Appointment as SI/Jemadar in Manipur, 2013.”

The announcement was made after a meeting of the unselected candidates’ guardians at the residence Md Islam at Lilong Bazaar this morning at around 7:30 am.

The said association is headed by Dr Badar as president and Md Islam as treasurer cum secretary.

Speaking to IFP, the newly formed association members have charged that there are many irregularities in the recruitment rally. Giving examples, the members claimed that a person who is presently a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officer sat for the written test of the recruitment rally. He was not present at the Viva-Voce but he was selected in the final result. The said person is from Thoubal district, they maintained.

Further, another person applied for both SI and Jemader posts. He was selected for Jemader in the written test but in the final result he was selected for SI, the members alleged.

They also claimed that there were many other irregularities.

The association is likely to file a petition at the High Court of Manipur on Monday or Tuesday challenging the recruitment rally’s final result.

Out of total 66 unselected candidates, 35 have joined the association so far.

It may be mentioned here that the written test result of the said recruitment rally was declared on December 23rd, 2011 and the final result was declared on August 6th, 2013.
