IMPHAL, Aug 26: The Surface Transport Hills Area Drivers’ Welfare Union today in a press release lauded the village chief and villagers for donating two acres of land at Tadubi for the welfare of the drivers.
The press release also mentioned the deplorable road condition of the National Highway No 2 urging the govt to provide blacktopping of the national highway so as to avoid roads from deteriorating further due to rain, it said.
The release further appealed the government for provision of road safety guides at the blind corners in between Senapati to Mao as provided in between T Khullen and Kangpokpi.
The press release also urged the Govt of Manipur to develop areas as parking space for the drivers, and also to arrange latrines and water system inside the campus.
