IMPHAL, August 17: The 67th Independence Day celebration was held at the mini stadium of Tamenglong district headquarters with deputy commissioner of district, C Arthur w as chief guest. The deputy commissioner hoisted tricolor National flag and received general salute given by the contingents led by H John Lokho, SDPO Tamenglong. Officials of various department and the locals also attended the Independence Day celebration.
Red blankets and sport materials were distributed to the village chiefs and local clubs on the function.
