IMPHAL, August 19: The SP of Imphal East district today said in a press release that on August 17, 2013 at about 12:45 am, a team of CDO Imphal East arrested one PREPAK (PRO) cadre namely, Aheibam Dijen Singh (61), son of (L) A Shyamkeshwor Singh of Lilong Arapti Mayai Leikai from Lilong Arapti Mayai Leikai. On verification, he stated that he joined PREPAK (PRO) organization through his younger brother Bhopen who is now in Myanmar and added that he had recruited one Tombi (40) of Arapti Mayai Leikai.
Further, on the same day at about 5:30 pm, a team of CDO of the district arrested one KCP (Paikhomba) group cadre namely, Konthujam Ampal Singh, 25 son of (L) K Bishma Singh of Top Moirang Kampu near Forest Gate from in front of Popular High School, Khurai and one mobile phone G-Five (G-9900-I) along with two SIM Cards (Aircel & Airtel) was recovered from his possession.
On verification, he disclosed that he joined KCP (Paikhomba) group in the year 2006 through one Aken of Takyel Maning Leikai. He further stated that he and his associates had set ablaze one Auto-Rickshaw at Kangla Sangomshang by hijacking it from Khuman Lampak Auto- Rickshaw Parking on 28th June 2013 and he was involved in extortion of money from the general public, govt officials, Private firms etc.
Again, on August 17, 2013 at about 4:45 pm, a team of CDO of the same district under the supervision of M Rajen Singh, Addl SP (OPs), IE arrested two KYKL women cadres namely, one Loitongbam (N) Athokpam (O) Sila Devi, 33 wife of A Pathou Singh of Bashikhong Torban Maimom Leikai presently staying at Kakwa Lilando Lampak and another one Salam (N) Athokpam (O) Gaitry Devi, 26 wife of A Thouna Singh of Bashikhong Torban Maimom Leikai from Hatta near Oil Pump and one mobile phone along with one Aircel SIM Card was recovered from the possession of Loitongbam (N) Athokpam (O) Sila Devi and one mobile phone along with one Aircel SIM Card and a sum of Rs. 29,000/- were recovered from the possession of Salam (N) Athokpam (0) Gaitry Devi.
On verification, they disclosed that they were active members of KYKL and they were working under the command of one Ningthoujam Punshi Singh, (38), of Thanga and they involved in extortion of money from the general public, govt officials, Private firms etc.
