IMPHAL, August 9: A day-long joint workshop on Mahila Office Bearers and Executive Committee Members for 54- Nungba, 53-Tamenglong and 52-Tamei Blocks organised by District Congress Committee, Tamenglong was held today at the conference hall of Hotel Nirmala.
It was attended by G Soihiam Haomei, chairman ADC Tamenglong; RK Ranisana Devi, president Manipur Pradesh, Mahila Congress and Humaliabou, vice-chairman ADC Tamenglong as chief guest, president and guerst of honour respectively.
Addressing at the gathering, RK Ranisana opined that certain measures formulated alone could not curb rising crimes against women but mother of their respective family could play a vital in fighting against such crimes as role of women in the society is indispensable.
She further said that mid day meal scheme has not been implemented in the State properly adding that the scheme should cater to each and every student of primary schools in the State without any hiccup and impediment.
Today’s workshop was also attended by Nungba Block Mahila’s president D Akim, secy Prety Kamei, Treasurer Gangthana Rongmei; Tamei Block Mahila’s president NK Agualaklui, secy N Soupinglui, treasurer Ramtuigyile Paomei; Tamenglong Block Mahila’s president Buikhiampui, secy Rajnanlui and treasurer Pouramdilui and Tamenglong District Mahila Congress Committee’s president Amy Kamei, secy NG Apeilui and treasurer Ehului Newmai.
