KSDC calls 48 hr bandh

    LAMKA, August 7: The Kuki State Demand Committee (KSDC) has in a press statement stated that it will call a 48 hrs general strike starting from midnight of August 13 till midnight of 15 in all the Kuki inhabited areas of Manipur.

    Secretary, information and publicity KSDC, George Guite said that the demand of Kuki statehood is genuine and realistic and added “The demand of KSDC is Kuki statehood: nothing more, nothing less”.

    Guite added, “KSDC will seriously continue their movement till a Kuki state is achieved and as such the committee will start the agitation to pressure the Govt to address the Kuki issue at the earliest.”

    The statement further appealed to all the people/general public to support the general strike for the cause of Kuki state so as to avoid any untoward incident. Press/media and medical staff alone will be exempted while the general strike is in effect and there will be no other exemption whatsoever, the statement said.
