IMPHAL, August 16: A 40 year old man who works as a manager at Chilly Ginger Fast Food cum Mocktail Bar at Loklaobung under Imphal police station was found brutally murdered with his throat slit this evening inside an underground water tank of the fast food building.
The deceased has been identified as Nongthongbam Shamjai (40), son of Maipak of Mantripukri Lamlongei.
The fast food building is owned by one Ningombam Manao at Morangkhom Makha Loklaoubung.
According to family members, Shamjai did not return home yesterday. At first they thought that he might have stayed the night at the fast food.
Finding the fast food closed, one of his friends called up his family this evening asking whether Shamjai was home following which, his family members started looking for him. They went to the fast food sneaking through the window and came across bloodstains inside the kitchen area of the fast food outlet.
After entering inside, they found Shamjai`s dead body inside the underground water tank.
Meanwhile, the police have picked up the dead body and deposited it at the RIMS morgue for post mortem and a case has been taken up in regard with the incident.
