IMPHAL, August 11: A joint meeting organised by Locality Area Protection and Preservation Committee (LAPPC) along with Laipham Khunou Apunba Nupi Lup (LANLUP) which was attended by members/representatives of various clubs, women organisation along with other organisations held at the community hall of Laipham Khunou Maning Leikai around 9 this morning has resolved certain resolutions regarding protection of agricultural lands covering areas from Chingmeirong to Leikinthabi, said a press release issued by Sunil Kumar, co-convenor LAPPC.
During the meeting, a committee was also formed where it would conduct spot assessment in the effected agricultural areas in due time and discuss on future course of actions to be taken up.
The various resolutions passed in the meeting are not to allow any kind of works conduct in the agricultural lands covering from Chingmeirong to Leikinthabi rather than agricultural activities; formation of a nine members adhoc committee; to hold another meeting on August 13 and convert the committee into a permanent body; to inform brokers not to indulge in buying-selling of agricultural lands and to extend all possible assistance to organisations in their various agricultural land saving movement.
