Not only imported eatables, Indian items also hazardous

    IMPHAL, August 19:  The Consumers’ Club, Manipur today said in a press release that not only the imports of Ready to Eat (RTE) items, the Indian made RTE items are also found health hazardous.

    The Parle Cakes Tutti Fruity which cost Rs 10 (batch no. 23-6-13/BR-23-A) were found getting fungus inside its packet , said the press release.

    The Consumer Club Manipur called and informed the Sales Executive of the company – Fast Moving Consumers’ Goods about this matter, it said.

    Cakes of the said batch number will be sent for testing to a laboratory, it continued.

    The press release informed the general public not to eat Parle cake of Tutti Fruity and Vanilla as of now.

    It is further informed hotel vendors to maintain cleanliness in handling eating items while cooking them.
