LAMKA, August 6: State Minister of Health, Phungzathang Tonsing today distributed old age pension money to 172 old citizens at his home in Hebron Veng New Lamka.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that though his thoughts are with the majority who don’t have the privilege to benefit from the scheme as of now, today’s distribution programme is only the first and will not be the last so no one should feel left out.
He said all must understand that it will be impossible to accommodate all on a single day.
Today’s Old Age Pension Scheme hand out was given in the form of an order with document where the recipient/ beneficiaries must open a Bank account so that they will be able to draw the old age pension amount through the bank which is a compulsory regulation that it is being launch recently by the Government.
Later in the day, he also handed out items to 50 IAY beneficiaries.
