IMPHAL, August 7: A 21 year old student of DM College was found hanging on the ceiling fan inside his room at DM college boy’s hostel this evening around 5, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Khumukcham Nuton (21), son of Kh Ibobi Singh, of Kakching Khunou Umathel Makha Leikai. He was a student of BA 1st semester.
Police said that he was staying with two other students in the room but the two had gone out to take bath when the incident happened.
When the two returned back they found him hanging on the ceiling fan inside their room. He was rushed to RIMS but succumbed at the hospital.
He left a suicide note from which the police came to know that he was depressed over losing his girlfriend.
Police have taken up a case of `unnatural death` and his dead body has been deposited to RIMS morgue for post mortem examination.
