IMPHAL, August 16: Alib Jaan, Pradhan of Sangaiyumpham Part I Gram Panchayat under Thoubal CD Block today inaugurated a newly built waiting shed near the entrance of Nungphou Mathak Dam in Thoubal district which was constructed under the State Finance 2012-13 and handed over to the public.
The inauguration function was attended by Md Abdul Matlif as president and Md Liyakat Ali, Advocate as guest of honour.
Speaking as chief guest on the occasion, Alib Jaan stated that even though the Sangaiyumpham Village is big in size with a large number of populace, the village still lacks in developmental works in many areas as compared with other villages adding that she as a responsible Pradhan has been handing over funds allocated by the State Government meant for various schemes taken up in the village through the development committee in transparent manner.
She further said that various developmental works and projects already taken up in the areas under her jurisdiction in a short span of within one year has been the prove of her sincerity and commitment adding that many projects are also on the card and appealed to the public to extend co-operation so as to develop the village.
Saying that IB Road which connects with Wangjing and Sangaiyumpham is still in deplorable condition even though road construction in different part of the State have already completed acting on a government’s policy which states that all major roads and bridges of the country should be repaired and expanded within 2020, the pradhan said she has been urging the concerned authorities to assess the condition of the road and repair it at the earliest.
The Food Security Bill slated to implement in the country soon would not only solve the food scarcity problem being faced by poor people but also facilitate to live a better life, she added.
