IMPHAL, August 4: As a part of its measures to register youths of the Khangabok Kendra into the Indian Youth Congress (IYC), a day-long convention for youths organised by the Khangabok Assembly Youth Congress Committee was held today at its office complex located at Wangbal.
Attended by YAS and Tourism Parliamentary Secretary M Prithiviraj as chief guest; Tribal Affairs Hills, Information and Technology Minister P S Victor Keishing as president and MOBC Science and Technology Parliamentary Secretary Md Amin Shah, Khangabok MLA O Landhoni, MPYCC’s president Md Amir Hussein, Khangabok Block Kendra Committee’s president Md Minnajudin, Khangabok Assembly Youth Congress Committee’s co-ordinator O Kennedy, Khangabok Mahila Congress Committee’s president N Anita Devi, KAYCC’s president L Shanta Khuman and Outer Lok Sabha, Manipur Gen Secy L Saratkumar as guests of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, M Prithiviraj asserted that Youth Congress, being one of the frontal organisation of the Indian National Congress is not a kind of organisations which is heard of only at times of elections adding that every member shoulders several responsibilities of the organisation.
He further said that the BJP Party has been hurling many senseless allegations against the O Ibobi led government in the State but what public wants have been proved clearly in the last Manipur Assembly Election.
He further continued that the government is trying to bring in developments on health, electricity and road connectivity equally in the hills and valley districts.
Manipur will be connected by railway line upto Tupul for sure in 2015-16. This is due to the hard efforts putted by Chief Minister O Ibobi, he affirmed.
While delivering speech as president of the function, Victor Keishing stated that future of the country lies on youths and the country would shine only after they are brought under right path and develop them adding that youths who are fielded up under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi will make India a peace and developed country.
The function which was attended by leaders of units under Khangabok Kendra, workers of Mahila Congress and others also saw presentation of awards to players of ‘’Thoudaba’’ Boxing Akademy, who have participated in the State Level Boxing Championship, 2013 held at Khuman Lampak.
