CorCom expresses need for propagating revolutionary ethos of Hijam Irobot

IMPHAL, September 25: A need for propagating revolutionary ethos as inspired by the late leader Hijam Irabot is the need of the hour, according to a press release of CorCom.

It said that this month is the 117th birth anniversary and 62nd death anniversary of Irabot and the public needs to participate and give due tribute to his memory. The statement stated that Irabot is a true revolutionary and served the public in various capacities to bring about a holistic change and betterment of the Manipuri society.

Detailing on the revolutionary movement of Hijam Irabot and his struggle, the release stated that he took up arms in 1950 by forming the Red Guard Council and the Village guards. He left the State to seek help from the Burma Communist Party and brought together the Communist Party of Burma, Burma Communist Party and Peoples Comrade Party which were separate entities before.

From his life, there is much to be learnt. He was an honest, principled person and stood up for the downtrodden populace. He also entered into politics and finally entered into revolutionary politics. This will be forever etched in the revolutionary history of the State. In pursuance of his endeavour, the people must participate in a revolutionary politics which will bring about a betterment of the state, the statement said.
