KNLF cadres awaiting homecoming ceremony take shelter with 6th Dogra regiment

    IMPHAL, September 26: Atleast seven cadres of the Kuki National Liberation Front (KNLF) who are to take part in an official homecoming ceremony is reportedly taking shelter at the 6th Dogra regiment Moltuk, under Chandel district bordering Myanmar.

    Sources said that the KNLF cadres along with arms and ammunition approached the Dogra regiment on September 24. They brought along one AK-47 with magazine and three live rounds, four AK-56 Rifles along with four magazines and 120 live ammunition and one Kenwood W/T set.

    The cadres have been identified as one Khupthang Misao, (51), son of Ravam Misao of Moreh, Hemkholun Haokip of Tuibuong, Zamkhongam Lupho (16), son of Zamthong Lupho of Moreh, Henbeoklen Vaiphei (20), son of Mangpi Vaiphei of Churachandpur, Jangminthang Guite (30), son of Khaidam Guite of Moreh, Seidinphang Sithon (30), son of Bumsul Sithon of Kangpokpi and Nangamkapoo (35), son Pungkholan of Molcham.

    The development comes barely a month after the outfit signed the Suspension of Operation pact with the centre and the state governments on September 9, last.

    During the official signing of the SoO pact, 50 cadres of the outfit had laid down their weapons before the government.
