UKHRUL, September 6: Though the villagers in Challou and Kuingai in the extreme north of Ukhrul district had spent nightmarish situations a few months ago when their normal life were disturbed by heavy downpour of rain that swept away the only viable road from Chingai sub-divisional headquarter to Challou via Kuingai village, villages can now heave a sigh of relief after the main rain-damaged road portion at several spots were cleared-off with the grant help of the Dy Speaker of the Manipur State Assembly MK Preshaw.
MK Preshaw who is also the concerned peoples’ representative in the Manipur Legislative Assembly from 44 (ST) Chingai AC extended his help towards the villagers’ needs issued JCB (Dozer) for clearance of the road blocks.
This was stated by Headman of Challou Village, AS Shanrei in Ukhrul town.
The headman on behalf of the villagers also expressed words of heartfelt gratitude to the Dy Speaker MK for extending aid to the villagers.
