IMPHAL, September 20: Womenfolk of Soibam Leikai today staged a sit in protest at Soibam Leikai Ahongei Machin against the firing of multiple rounds of bullet at the residence of the Laishram (o) Khongbantabam Bino Devi, (56), wife of (L) Ibohal on Wednesday at around 2:30 pm by unknown persons.
Speaking to media persons, Bino said that her family has not received any threats or monetary demands from any underground outfits and had no personal enmity with anyone.
She further appealed to the perpetrators to clarify on the reason for the attack.
Meanwhile, a woman protestor said that after the attack, seven bullet holes were found on Bino’s residence wall while three projectiles were also recovered from the area.
The firing incident has been reported at the Porompat Police station the same day, she said before demanding clarification on the incident from the perpetrators at the earliest.
