IMPHAL, September 9: A mass tree plantation campaign carried out at compounds of several Umang Lais under Khangabok Kendra in Thoubal kick-started today with the planting of tree saplings by variuos clubs, organisations, volunteers and villagers under the supervision Th Jadumani.
In its first day, tree saplings were planted at Ikop Ningthou Haraobung, Khangabok Part I; Shanglen Mapan Laikon, Khangabok Part II and Ema Nungleima Laikon, Khangabok Part III.
Further, the plantation campaign continued with planting tree saplings in and around Ediga in Sangaiyumpham Part II.
The organisers are also planning to plant more saplings at other places.
