IMPHAL, September 20: The Naga international Support Center (NISC), has today condemned the killing of Jonathan Kashung, one of the candidates of the Tangkhul Naga Long scheduled presidential election.
The NISC statement said, “This is a severe case of injustice and as the family points to the NSCN-IM as the party responsible for this murder. The Naga International Support Center is waiting for the NSCN-IM to break its silence.”
The NISC statement said that the center vehemently condemns the perpetrators and those who ordered them to take the life of Jonathan Kashung.
Meanwhile, the Ukhrul divisional unit of the Naga People’s Front has also condemned the killing.
In a seperate statement it said that the condemnation is joined by all area unit presidents of NPF, 43 Phungyar, 44 Ukhrul and 45 Chingai assembly constituencies. The press release continued that the Ukhrul Divisional Unit of NPF stands against the use of violence by any group upon the member of the civil society.
Differences and misunderstandings can be solved by sitting across the table in the present civilized society, it said.
The statement further said that divisional unit NPF along with area unit presidents shared the sorrow of the bereaved family.
