IMPHAL, Sept 24: The 44th NSS Day was observed today by the NSS Cell, Manipur University with Vivekananda Lecture Series-2 at the Political Science Department of the University, said a press release of the NSS Cell program coordinator, MU.
The NSS Week started with effect from today. Prof Ksh Bimola Devi, department of Political Science, MU attended as the chief guest and chairperson of the Vivekananda Lecture Series-2.
While giving his welcome address, Dr Ch Ibohal Singh emphasized the significance of observing NSS Week. He also mentioned that Manipur would be the first to observe NSS Week.
Prof CJ O`Brien of the English department, MU delivered on “Vivekananda: His Visionary” while another speaker Dr Bhaskar Mutum, RGNIYD, Tamil Nadu lectured on “Youth in peace building process”.
During the function, the results of the State level open written quiz competition-2013 under the theme Know Your NSS conducted on Sunday was declared.
Meanwhile, the 44th NSS Foundation Day of Kha Manipur College, Kakching organized by NSS Unit I and II was held today at the PS Hall of the college wherein principal, teachers, students and staffs of the college attended the function, said a separate press release.
