KANGPOKPI, Sept 14: A one day seminar on “Rights and Advocacy” organized by MANEDA, SDPAM and ATDUSH was conducted here today at the community hall of the Kangpokpi Women Welfare Organization.
Around 50 persons with disabilities within Kangpokpi area attended the seminar.
The seminar facilitator T Peter Rongnamei, Director MANEDA spoke on `Persons With Disability Act 1995, Rehabilitation Council of India Act and National Trust Act 1999`.
He also highlighted various provision under the Constitution of India and narrated some Schemes and Entitlement for Persons With Disability.
Mangkholun Khongsai, president All Tribal Disabled Union Sadar Hills while briefing the activities of ATDUSH since its inception highlighted the constraints faced by the organization.
