Seminar on Bio-Diversity Conservation-Knowledge and Participation kicks-off

    IMPHAL, September 14: A two-day long state level seminar on Bio-Diversity Conservation-Knowledge and Participation organised by Volunteers for Scientific Action on Rural Development (VOSARD), Wangjing Lamding under the sponsorship of Ministry of Environment and Forest kick-started today at the auditorium of Lamding Model High School.

    The first day of the seminar was divided into two sessions. In the first session, three resource persons presented their statement.

    Yumnam Vedajit, subject matter specialist KVK Thoubal spoke on ‘’Fishes of Manipur and their conservation’’; Prof Arunkumar on ‘’Hydrology of Small water sheds in Manipur’’ while Prof N Rajmohon delivered on ‘’Need for Revitalisation of Traditional Knowledge about Medicinal, Food and Dyeing Systems of Manipur’’.

    In the second session, Thoubal College Principal O Chaoba acted as the moderator and four resource persons read out their papers.
