Speakers at Workers` Education Day express need for work culture

IMPHAL, September 16: The Central Board for Workers Education, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Govt of India, Regional Directorate celebrated the “Workers Education Day” at its training hall at Place Compound, Imphal today under the theme “Training on the themes Workers Education For inclusive development and reducing socio-economic imbalance”.

Deputy Speaker Manipur State Legislative Assembly and president of INTUC (MB) MK Preshow Shimray attended as the chief guest, Eminent Economist, Chief Adviser, Manipur State Panchayat Parishad Prof N Mohendro Singh and president HMS (MS) Manihar Goswami and secy INTUC (MB) Yumnam Ranapratap Singh; NationalSecretary, BMS (All India) N Tomba Singh attended as the president and guests of honour, respectively.

Y Ranapratap Singh, secy INTUC said seven lakh people of the state are looking for job and only a mere 72 thousand are in government services.

People need to understand the importance of work culture through which development is possible, he said.

The Japanese has an enviable work culture and are known for their development in all fields, he continued.

He further elaborated on the need for the people of the state to learn Hindi.

The national secretary, BMS (All India) N Tomba Singh in his speech expressed the need for the board to build proper classes.

NGOs should look and work for development in the remote areas in interior places of the state like Chandel, Moreh, Sugnu, Tamenglong, he said and further suggested on the need to provide vocational training to the people of such areas.

MK Preshaw Deputy Speaker Manipur State Legislative Assembly said that today more people are working in the private sectors like construction, sericulture, media and others.

He said people should have the right and proper knowledge regarding their jobs.

Next year, people from the hills should also be invited and celebrate the day together, he expressed.

People should encourage motivational ideas and not allow laziness to affect their duties, the Deputy Speaker added.
