IMPHAL, September 8: An official team led by the Chairman of the 3rd Manipur State Finance Commission, Rakesh will be reaching Imphal tomorrow on a three days visit.
It is learnt that the official team during the three day visit will meet representatives of local bodies of the state and other state officials to discuss fund allocation to the local bodies and their financial management systems.
According to a reliable source, the team will be landing at the Tulihal Airport in an Indigo flight at 11:30am tomorrow.
Soon after the arrival, the team will drive straight to the Commission’s temporary office at Hotel Imphal and meet the Commission’s Member Secretary and officials, informed the source.
It is also learnt that after discussing the works and programmes of the Commission with the officials for about an hour, the team will meet with the chairmen and members of the Autonomous District Councils of the hill districts.
Later in the day, the team will meet the adhyakshas and members of Zilla Parishads. The team will meet the state Additional Chief Secretary (Finance), Principal Secretary (RD & PR, TA & Hills), Commissioner (MAHUD) and Director (Local Fund Audit), Manipur.
The Chairman, after discussing the financial position, power and functioning of the local bodies with the elected representatives of the ADCs, Zilla Parishads and other state government officials, will be again meeting with the Commission’s Member Secretary and Officers in the evening, it is said.
The next day on September 10, the Chairman and his team will meet with the representatives of the Municipal Council and Nagar Panchayats of Thoubal district at the office of the district’s Deputy Commissioner at 10am.
The Chairman is also set to meet with the representatives of the Zilla Parishads and Gram Panchayats of the district following which the team will physically inspect a gram panchayat office and the office of the Thoubal Municipal Council.
On returning to Imphal from Thoubal, the team will meet with the Member Secretary and officials at the Commission’s temporary office.
On the third day of the visit on September 11, the official team will physically inspect an office each of Zilla Parishad and Gram Panchayat in Imphal East district.
Later, the team will meet with the chairpersons and councilors of the Municipal Council and Nagar Panchayat at Hotel Imphal.
The Commission’s Chairman will meet the Accountant General, Manipur in the afternoon at Hotel Imphal which will be followed by another meeting with the Member Secretary and officials.
The Chairman led official team will leave Imphal on September 12 at 10am for New Delhi.
